受近日疫情影響,策展計畫「人造單位」的參展藝術家長谷川愛不克來台,因此原訂5月9日(週六)於立方七樓舉辦的座談改為在網路上進行。這場線上座談的講座錄影將於5月16日起開放線上瀏覽,瀏覽期限至5月16日,有興趣的朋友請把握機會。
座談中,身處日本東京的長谷川愛以作品〈共享的小孩〉(2010/2019)為例,展開建立在共享基因庫的基礎上,由多對雙親共組家庭的新想像,並以此呼應甫於「人造單位」第一階段展期中展出的作品〈(不)可能的小孩〉(2015),與線上參與的諸位嘉賓討論相應而生的親屬關係與社會分工模式。
本次座談邀請的嘉賓包括同志媽媽Vivian、陽明大學心哲所助理教授林映彤、遺傳學與新媒體藝術研究者楊克鈞,以及「人造單位」第二階段參展藝術家顧廣毅、遠房親戚實驗室等多位嘉賓線上參與討論。

Due to the situation of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the talk event of artist Ai Hasegawa for the exhibition “Artificial Unit” at TheCube Project Space, which is scheduled on May 9, 2020, has been made to be presented online. The talk event invited 6 discussants to join the conversation with Hasegawa on the topic of “Shared Baby”, a project by the artist to explore how childrearing would change if babies were born with genes from multiple parents. The hyperlink to this online talk will be announced on the day of the event. (The conversation is conducted in English)
Ai Hasegawa has exhibited her project (Im)possible Baby (2015) in the first phase of exhibition “Artificial Unit”. In this talk, Ai shared her another project “Share Baby” (2011/2019) as an example for imagining a new family which is constructed on a shared gene pool and to explore the consequent changes of family relationships and social division.

▋About Artist
Ai Hasegawa
Artist and designer. Ai Hasegawa produced many works putting emphasis on subjects relating to technology and people with employing techniques such as BioArt, Speculative Design and Design Fiction. She obtained degree of MA in 2012 from Design Interactions Course, Royal College of Art in Britain; worked as researcher at Design Fiction Group, MIT Media Lab from 2014 to fall of 2016; took degree of MS in 2016; serving as Project Researcher at The University of Tokyo since April 2017; won Excellence Award at Work Art Division in 19th Japan Media Arts Festival for her work titled (Im)possible Baby; hold exhibitions within and outside Japan including at MORI ART MUSEUM and Ars Electronica.
Exhibited at Mind Temple MoCA Shanghai, Ars Electronica 2016, Nationalmuseum Design in Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Sweden, Milano Salone Italiy, Science Gallery Dublin, Taipei Digital Arts Center and so on.
